This route begins near La Pola’s camping facilities. This climb on the south side is charming; you can find a small mountain retreat where you can spend the night or just rest.

Before reaching the summit you can see a cave where tradition says San Mateo used to live.

On the way back there’s a pine forest, home to many birds: robins, greenfinches, magpies and cuckoos; and also to many small mammals: mice, squirrels and weasels, living among roe deers and boars.

Observations: the descent in this rout coincides with the local path from Santa Lucia, hence the signs will have the corresponding colours.
